Kassim Kamal-deen is a technical expert for Project Gaia in Nigeria. He has participated in the installation of bioethanol plant in Oyo, Nigeria. He is also a LEAP Africa alumnus and involved in volunteering activities that focus on educating youths on becoming effective and inclusive leaders. Kamal-deen holds a bachelor degree in chemical engineering and developed an interest in biofuel production and youth empowerment activities which both spurred his selection as Young Africans Leadership Initiatives (YALI) fellow in 2015 and three research projects on biofuel. During the leadership training, he served as an election commission officer and also the secretary, research committee.
